“Farming
shouldn’t be
a fight
but it is.”
We feed people, and most people love local farm fresh food… So why, in a Right to Farm community, is this farmer now having problems with the Town? Small farms across Massachusetts are under siege—from restrictive local regulations to mounting legal battles that threaten their existence. Wyandotte Farm is just one example: a fully licensed, community-rooted operation being forced to fight for its right to grow food and honor agricultural traditions.
Without immediate support, farms like ours risk being silenced by bureaucracy, despite feeding our communities, preserving open space, and sustaining local economies. Your support isn’t just for one farm—it’s a stand for every small grower trying to survive in a system tilted against them.
Help us protect the future of farming in Massachusetts—before it’s too late.
MEET YOUR FARMER
Meet Mike King, the heart and hands behind Wyandotte Farm in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. A lifelong local and passionate advocate for sustainable living, Mike founded Wyandotte over 14 years ago with a mission to raise healthy animals, support the local food system, and build community through real, honest food.
At Wyandotte Farm, Mike raises a diverse array of animals— including pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and goats — with care and respect. His pigs are fed with fresh food sourced from Fieldstone Farm Market and processed locally, while the farm’s poultry is processed in Rhode Island and brought right back to serve the community.
Beyond the farm, Mike is a community builder. From launching Wyandotte Wednesdays, a farmers market and dinner series held at the Knights of Columbus, to opening a farm stand on North Street that makes farm-fresh goods accessible to all— he’s committed to ensuring that no one in the community leaves hungry, no matter their means.
With experience as both a Safety Training Consultant and the Chairman of the Mattapoisett Conservation Commission, Mike brings a deep understanding of stewardship and sustainability to every part of his work.
For Mike King, farming isn’t just a livelihood—it’s a way to give back. Stop by the stand or visit us at one of our local events and taste the difference a farmer with purpose makes.
